Good Reads Website...Yea!!

My grandmother sent me an invite to goodreads.com so I thought I would join, when it pulled up my my email contacts that were already members, I was like, "why didn't I know about this before?" Funny because I actually started another blog to post all my books to share with firends and called it Gina's Good Reads!! but no one ever visited it and now that I found this I can add the books I want with ease and I know that all my friends are on there. How fun. It also keeps a list of the books you want to read so no worries about remembering! I am so excited. I was also able to see how many books I actually have read and makes me more excited to keeo reading. If you notice on my profile there, I am reading several books at once, well...I start a lot of books and don't finish because I get excited about another book, and another book, so I end of buying these half read books just to keep track of what I want to read, not with this fancy new website I don't have to worry. Now all I need to do is get crackin and catch up with all my reading. Now that I have a baby, it's going to be even more challenging...bring it on baby! Now all I need is for you all to accept my invite I sent you so we can be firends! Aww. ;) If you are not a member, become one and send me a friend invite!

First Steps!

Delia took 4 steps all by herself today! Although wobbly, she still took them! I am so proud of her. At first I watched her take 2 steps trying to get her binki off the chair and I was so excited that I kept working with her for about 15 mins. to see if she could take any more and she did! She is just such a determined kid and she likes to accomplish things. So exciting!

First Tooth...Yea, Finally!!

Well, after teething for a very long time, Delia finally got her first tooth on the day she turned 10 months!! I was starting to get a little worried wondering if she would ever get teeth ;D but she did. Now she will have a little more help chewing her food. she is now eating table food along with some baby food since 9 months, thanks to her father feeding her fish and potatoes..which she loves. It mostly has to be soft for her. when we giver her harder things like cherrios, she just spits them out, but we continue to work with her. She is also a picky eater. some days she will eat like a good girl and other days she just plain doesn't want to eat. I am really working at being patient with her and it seems to pay off, she eats at her own pace not mommy's..uh duh, hello, why didn't I figure that out sooner?? anyway she is doing good. Hooray for Delia!

A New Milestone for Delia!!

Delia just keeps growing!! She is so silly! I don't know any baby like her! Delia is so close to walking. She has been standing on her own balancing herself for several seconds. Just today she stood for 15 seconds!!! Wow. I am so proud of her. I keep working with her everyday to get her closer to walking. I know it seems like I am digging my grave wanting her to walk so fast. It's not really that, its just she wants it and I know she is ready I just try to help and encourage her, not push her. She even took 1 or 2 steps on her own, but she was bent over while doing it. It was so funny to watch her. It's exciting to me to see her grow up but sad too. I bought her this new little outfit and I love it!!! I decided to take a picture of her in it and she pulled some super funny faces. That is Delia all the way.

Farmington, NM visit..and New House!!

A couple of weekends ago Christian took me down to Farmington to see it. It was really nice, much bigger than I expected. It has all your basic conveniences: A lowes and Home Depot, Target, Walmart supercenter, K-mart, Big lots, it's even got a Hobby Lobby, 2 scrapbook stores and a Sally Beauty Supply. It has a couple of mexican and Chinese restaurants, and Applebees, Chilis, KFC. taco bell...the list goes on!! I didn't expect it to have so much. I really like the wards down there, so many families, it's a great family town. We also visited the office Christian will be working at and it is beautiful!! New faciluty, new everything! It is well taken care of and business continues to boom! Houses are not as expensive as I thought they were, it just depends on where they are located. We were originally going to rent a house for a while, but Christian's new boss, who is awesome, talked us into buying a small house. After looking at some homes with the 2 days we had, we found one we liked. after counteroffering it, christian decided to stop before he accepted their last offer because we still were not approved for a loan yet!! That's when we got a call from a friend of Mike's(christian's boss) telling us that the house he is building will be ready by July 1st! This was one of the houses that we looked at briefly for the heck of it(which was still far from frinished) but knew it wouldn't be done in time, so we put it aside in our minds. Now that it will be done, we started the negotiating of the terms with the owner and after 2 weeks finally came to an agreement. I faxed the the contract today, so that's it!! Technically we don't own it yet, but signed a contract that we will buy it after renting for 3 months or we will loose a big chunk of Earnest money!! Christian just needed some time to save money for a down payment on a mortgage, so by the end of Sept, we will own a house!! Oof course there are pros and cons to it. One we haven't seen it finished completely yet and only glanced at it once when it was still being built, but on the other hand he gave me to chance to choose everything I wanted: The cabinets, countertops, tile, carpet, faucets, light fixtures, mirrors, sinks, even the colors of the walls and the outside colors of the house. It is pretty much cutomized to my choices!!! How cool is that! I just can't wit to see it! Turns out that the owner's wife and I have similar tastes, I chose things that were close to what she had originally picked out! After taling with her for a while and telling her what I kind of wanted, I can trust her to make it look good. It is really hard to choose things long distace and over the internet without being there to actually see it! She assures me that it is going to look nice! It is also cool because instead of putting in what we want later and buying it all ouselves, they get a good deal from wholesalers, so we will be getting pretty nice stuff! I am so excited! Another great thing is that it is in the most sought after neighborhoods, a great part of town(just over the fence from the wealthy country club homes)in the best school district and only a 20 min. walk to christian's work!! Well, I will bring you more updates once we move in which is in 3 1/2 weeks!!! Awwww!

Engaged and Unofficially engaged!

Two of my favorite people are engaged...my sister and sister-in-law. Okay so my sister insisted I change the title to "Unoffically engaged" because she has no ring yet, but she pretty much is!! Melanie and Heather. The first 2 pictures are of Melanie and Adam(my little sis.) and the third is Heather. I really didn't have a picture of her and Rich(her fiance) so I thought this one was nice. Heather and Rich haven't made any details yet, but my sister has!! They chose the date October 17 and have already booked the Temple. Melanie is so excited she is on top of things. I am so happy for them both, but a little freaked out about my sister because..well she's my sister! Hooray. More details to come later.

Hanging Lake

Last Saterday we went to a Place called Hanging Lake. It was more beautiful than expected! The hike wasn't very far but it was all up hill and rocky. It was so breathtaking once we got up to the top the view of the mountains and the small lake was awesome. The water was so green, it looked like something out of Hawaii. The picture do not do it justice. It was Delia's first hike and so was so good just like she always is. It was nice to be able to experience the colorado out doors before we leave.

New Bath Toys!!

Now that Delia has been sitting up on her own for a while, I thought it would be fun to get her some toys to play with in the bath tub. They are little marine animals. They fill up with water and then you squirt them out. Delia is so funny because when I was squirting them at her, so opened her mouth and I shot out some water. She liked it so much she kept opening her mouth for me to squirt water in. Christian and I were laughing so hard. Funny kid!! I keep the water pretty shallow and let her crawl back and forth as her toys float all over. I let her play longer that night mostly because I had so much fun watching her.
